MIS = Forest Bear
Our Day Care’s name is MIS, which means “forest bear”. We love our little bear students and want to impart the feeling of freedom, individuality and a wildness as they grow and learn with us.
We provide parents with peace of mind by giving children an exceptional education every fun-filled day in a place as nurturing as home. We respect children’s talents, uniqueness and their individuality.
At MIS we do not follow only one philosophy. Our program combines different schools of pedagogical thought. We get our inspirations from Maria Montessori and her method of use of educational tools, Reggio Emilia’s work approach and Waldorf’s hand -on activity approach.
About the Provider…
Originally from Poland, attended Baruch College and graduate with dual major: educational psychology and international marketing.
Edyta has over 20 years of professional experience caring for children ages birth to 12 years old. In 2004 she opened “MIS” and raised her daughters Olivia(19 yo) and Juliet (27yo). Prior to opening MIS, she gained teaching experience working in ABC Day Care and TriBeCa Community School.
Edyta holds CPR and First Aid certifications. As well various trainings approved by NYS Office of Children and Family Services and Food Program. In 2019 she received certification Yo Re Mi Yoga.
